Beer Tasting Notes
1. ABSOLUTION – 5.3% Golden coloured beer, giving a rich mellow sweetish taste Abbeydale Brewery tempered with citric overtones and a subtle bitter finish.
2. ARCADIA – 4.0% The goal of this session pale was to unite all 3 forces and deliver Disruption Brewery peace and pleasure. Find it in Arcadia.
3. ARMADILLO PALE – 3.8% A tropical hop fuelled West Coast wanderer, the Armadillo Tempest Brewery transcends the ages, expect waves of zesty citrus rolling over local barley.
4. ARRAN SUNSET – 4.4% A mid-amber summer ale, light perfumed aroma, good Arran Brewery balance of malt, fruit and hops with a pleasant dry finish.
5. AY UP – 3.9% An eminently drinkable English pale session ale. Subtle malt and Dancing Duck floral notes are matched splendidly with citrus hop, rounded off with a slightly dry finish.
6. BABY FACED ASSASSIN – 6.1% A homebrew scaled up with limited commercial Roosters Brewery availability.
7. BG SIPS – 4.0% An award winning pale and intensely hoppy beer. Enticing
Blue Monkey tropical fruit aromas, finished with a good level of thirst quenching, almost peppery bitterness.
8. BLACK DOG – 3.6% A traditional dark mild it has many CAMRA awards to its name. Elgoods Brewery The beer is well balanced with a full roast flavour.
9. BREAD & BUTTER – 3.9% Layers of US hops are set against a backbone of British Vocation Brewery malts, so what this beer lacks in strength, it makes up for in character.
10.BROADSIDE – 4.7% Broadside commemorates the fierce battle of Sole Bay fought Adnams Brewery against the Dutch Republic in 1672 off the Southwold coast, just across the green from our brewery.
11.BROOMSTICK BITTER – 4.0% A rich, golden session ale, smooth and balanced with an Moorhouse Brewery fruit palate and a slightly dry finish.
12.BUNNY HOP – 3.5% Bunny Hop is an extra hopped pale ale. A bold beer, which Purity Brewery perfectly balances its low abv of 3.5%.
13.BYB BEST YORKSHIRE BITTER – 3.8% A well balanced Yorkshire Session Bitter. Craven Brewery Co.
14.CART BLANCHE – 5.0% This golden full bodied ale smacks of flavour enhanced by Kelburn Brewery a touch of wheat malt, giving good head retention and a wonderfully dry after-taste that won’t be easily forgotten.
15.CHILLI BEER – 3.8% A fruity, hoppy beer with a subtle hint of chilli and heat that Hopstar Brewery builds. Infused with the fruity flavours of one of the hottest
chillis, but less of the heat.
16.CRÈME BEARLEE – 4.8% A luscious stout with vanilla and molasses.

17.CUNNING STUNT – 4.3% Golden coloured single-hop beer brewed with American Fuzzy Duck Brewery Wilamette hops. The rub of the hops gives an estery/blackcurrant/herbal aroma.
18.DEVIL’S BRIDGE IPA – 5.2% Citrus hit with a bitter end.
Kirby Lonsdale
19.DICK TURPIN – 4.2% A stronger than average session beer, with a mellow
Coach House Brewery hoppy nose and smooth aftertaste. It has a full toffee like
malty palate and has an exceptional appearance.
20.DV8 – 4.8% Stout ’wi clout! A moreishly delicious breakfast stout.
Deeply Vale Brewery Thick and creamy, like silk in a glass.
21.ELSIE MO! – 4.7% Clear and golden with a frothy/bubbly white head and a subtle Castle Rock Brewery light fruit malt aroma.
22.ERNIE’S MILK STOUT – 4.5% A full bodied malty ale with a creamy finish. Roast coffee Settle Brewery and chocolate tones gives this Stout a unique rich flavour.
23.FARMER’S PALE – 5.0% A distinctive fruity pale ale, well balanced with a powerful Bradfield Brewery floral bouquet, full-bodied and a predominantly dry
aftertaste.
24.FLAT CAP – 4.0% Our signature beer – a pale bitter with a citrus aroma and
Bank Top Brewery a hoppy citrus finish.
25.OFF THE LIP – 4.4% Introducing a Double Dry Hopped Pale. A tantalising pale ale, Darkland Brewery delight in its vibrant hop-forward experience, bursting with citrus aromas of grapefruit and tangerine, enhanced by subtle tropical
notes of pineapple and passionfruit.
26.HAIR OF THE DOG – 3.9% Sparkling bright blonde, smooth and refreshing with a Pennine Brewery slight citrus kick. Made with Fuggles and First Gold hops.

28.INGLEBOROUGH GOLD – 4.0% A golden ale which is hoppy throughout with a Three Peaks Brewery fruity aroma. Late hopped using 3 varieties of hops to create a fresh aromatic taste
29.J.H.B. – 3.8% A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops that give
Oakham Brewery characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit on the palate are
Balanced by malt and a bitter base.
30.CLOGWYN GOLD – 3.6% Golden Hoppy Ale. Tropical fruit aromas followed by sweet Conwy Brewery malts and a gentle hoppy bitterness aftertaste
31.KNOWLE SPRING BLONDE – 4.2% SORRY UNAVAILABLE – REPLACED BY NO. 82 Taylor’s Brewery
32.LANCASTER RED – 4.8% A premium strength, ruby red beer, fired by plentiful Lancaster Brewery amounts of Goldings and First Gold hops. Red offers a robust malt-dominated body finished with a bitter note.
33.LANDLORD – 4.3% The drinkers’ favourite, a classic pale ale with complex citrus and Taylor’s Brewery hoppy aroma. It has won more awards than any other beer.
34.MAD GOOSE – 4.2% A zesty pale ale with a smooth and citrusy finish.
Purity Brewery
35.ACORN IPA – 5.0% The latest in our current series of single hopped IPAs. As part of Acorn Brewery the Hop Development Range from our hop merchant, this new USA hop packs a punchy. tropical fruit aroma.
36.MAHARAJA IPA – 5.1% This golden IPA has a strong bitterness with citrus
Renegade Brewery overtones making an interesting mouthful. It’s a proper IPA and a thirst quenching beer.
37.MR CHUBBS – 3.4% Our beautifully balanced session bitter is packed with all the Renegade Brewery spicy, fruity and floral flavours you’d expect from English hops, creating a fragrant brew.
38.NOG – 4.6% CAMRA Supreme Champion 1992. “Nog” is an East
Woodfordes Brewery Anglian name for a strong ale.
39.PHEASANT PLUCKER – 3.7% A light refreshing ale, filled with citrus notes.
Bowland Brewery
40.PLUM PORTER – 4.9% This beer is dark strong and well rounded; the richness of such a Titanic Brewery rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Goldings hops and natural plum flavouring.
41.POW POW – 4.6% Sorachi Citra Pale and it’s truly awesome! This is the first of Magpie Brewery new beers from our hop-forward Wanderlust series.
42.PRESERVATION FINE ALE – 4.4% Brewed to the traditional East Midlands style. Mid-Castle Rock Brewery brown/reddish easy drinking full flavoured best
bitter.
43.PUFFIN – 4.5% A deep golden beer with an aroma of sweet nutty malt, hints of Orkney Brewery cedarwood and dark fruits. An inviting rich malt palate.
44.RED SMIDDY – 4.1% A smooth, dry ale with a unique spicy aroma and flavour. Its Kelburn Brewery reddish hue, warm glow and tight head makes it stand out.
45.RESTORTATION IRISH RED – 4.3% A pale beer with fresh lemon and grapefruit Abbeydale Brewery flavours. Made from Chinook hops. A long lasting
bitter finish. Very refreshing.
46.REV JAMES ORIGINAL – 4.5% Brewed to a traditional recipe. Full-bodied and Rich Brains Brewery warming in palate, spicy and aromatic with a
deeply satisfying finish.
47.RIGGWELTER – 5.9% A powerhouse of a beer. A sheep is said to be ‘riggwelted’ when Black Sheep Brewery it has rolled onto its back and is unable to get back up without assistance.
48.SALVATION – 3.8% A light refreshing golden beer, with tropical fruit, citrus, and Charnwood Brewery floral flavours. A citrus aroma, and crisp clean bitterness finish.
49.STEAM TRAIN – 4.5% Subtle English hops and sweet crystal malt bring a fresh, Carnwod Brewery honeyed character to this easy-drinking Black Country style beer.
50.STEWARTS 80/- 4.4% A full bodied, full flavoured auburn coloured classic heavy. It’s Stewarts Brewery easy drinking with aromas of malt, light hops & fruit to compliment it’s smooth and creamy texture.
51.SUMMER LIGHTNING – 5.0% Terrific straw-coloured beer with a fresh, hoppy aroma Hopback Brewery and a well rounded, malty flavour with an intense
bitterness which leads to an excellent long, dry finish.
52.SUPER NOVA – 4.8% A premium pale ale brewed using lager malts with a top
Black Hole Brewery fermenting ale yeast. A variety of hops combine to provide a
floral taste.
53.TEQUILA BLONDE – 3.8% SORRY UNAVAILABLE – REPLACED BY NO. 83

54.TITUS – 3.9% Traditional bitterness meets a twist of citrus in this clean,
Saltaire Brewery contemporary take on a classic.
55.CIGARETTES & ALCOHOL – 4.2% A pale ale, brewed with Bobek, Pacifica and Acorn Brewery Tettnang hops to impart punchy citrus and floral
notes. “You Gotta Make It Happen!”
56.TWEED – 4.0% Tweed is our brand new naturally hazy pale ale, which may be Salt Brewery low in ABV but still packs a punch with lots of tropical fruit notes.

58.VOODOO CHOCOLATE A deliciously rich and full-bodied stout, brewed
ORANGE STOUT – 5.0% from pale, roasted & chocolate malt. Smooth with
Ossett Brewery moderate bitterness and chocolate flavours with aromas of orange.
59.WHERRY – 3.8% A Supreme Champion Beer of Britain. A rich amber ale enjoys Woodfordes Brewery floods of flavours, as sweet malts clash with grapefruit hops and big floral aromas in a sensory strike.

61.WILD DOG IPA – 4.2% Wild Dog IPA has all the juicy, punchy hop character of an IPA. Full Brewery of flavour, made with specially selected hops. Suitable for vegans.
62.YORKSHIRE PRIDE – 3.7% Very pale session bitter, well hopped with Challenger and Acorn Brewery Savinjski hops

63.BEST – 3.8% This is our flagship session ale. A well balanced and
Six Penny Handley Brewery moreish ale, with a good round malt flavour that leads to a bitter finish.
64.BONZO TROPICAL IPA – 5.2% Get trampled underfoot with Orange, Waimea, Drop the Anchor Brewery Citra, Idaho 7 and dry hopped with Mosaic.
Unfined so appears hazy.
65.CHESIL – 4.1% A light crisp Pilsner finished with a Polish Lubleski hop to
Dorset Brewing Company create a distinctive lavender and magnolia aroma.
66.CHIMERA GERMAN PALE Four varieties of German hops (Perle, Tettnang,
ALE – 4.2% Mittlefruh, and Spalter Select) add herbal, floral flavours
Downton Brewery and a fresh aroma to this golden coloured bitter.
67.COPPER ALE – 3.7% Beautifully balanced, copper-coloured session ale, good citrus Palmers Brewery fruit with a hoppy aroma. Full-flavoured and brewed with Maris Otter malt and whole leaf First Gold aroma hops.
68.DORSET KNOB – 3.9% Zesty light amber ale with a malty character and a hoppy Dorset Brewing Company floral bouquet.
69.DOWNTON DREAM – 4.8% An extremely flavoursome Pilsner-style ale brewed with Downton Brewery Slovenian Celeia and Dana hops. Imparts a unique floral nose and light sweetness. Lean, clean and very drinkable!
70.DURDLE DOOR – 5.0% Rusty full bodied ale with a warm caramel flavour and Dorset Brewing Company hints of marmalade on the nose.
71.FREEBIRD APA – 4.2% Floral, fruity and resinous, Free Bird is a medium-bodied Sandbanks Brewery beer with caramel flavours and a toasted maltiness.
72.GROCKLES BLONDE – 4.5% Here we have a gulp of swallows, amongst the UK’s most Southbourne Ales well known tourists. Grockles Blonde Ale is also here just for the summer with its refreshing peach aromas.
73.IPA – 4.2% Multi award winning traditional IPA. Brewed using four
Six Penny Handley Brewery hop varieties. Full flavoured, powerful hop character with a long rounded malt finish.
74.NEW FOREST ALE – 3.8% A bronze coloured best bitter. A combination of roasted Downton Brewery malts and rich, aromatic hops provide a well rounded
flavour and a distinctive hoppy bitterness.
75.PALMER’S 200 – 5.0% Full bodied, rich and malty, with a distinctive hop
Palmers Brewery character. So popular that it is now our flagship ale.
76.RUDE JUICY IPA – 4.8% Vintage gold in colour, with an aroma of tangerine and Rude Giant Brewery passion fruit with a taste of mango, pineapple and lemon sherbet.
77.RUDE PALE ALE – 3.6% Golden ale. Full and rounded hop character with an ABV Rude Giant Brewery that suits summer, pub garden drinking.
78.SANDBANKS BITTER – 3.9% A deep copper traditional bitter with caramel
Sandbanks Brewery undertones.
79.SUNBATHER REAL ALE – 4.0% This beer has a low level of bitterness, with
Southbourne Ales flavours of toffees and oranges. This colourful ale
is good on its own or with pub food.
80.WAYWARD SON IPA – 5.0% A deep golden ale packed with New World hops. Sandbanks Brewery
81.INFINITY IPA – 4.6% Since introduced in 2011 it’s become one of the best
Blue Monkey Brewery sellers and perfect for lovers of modern style ‘hop
forward’ beers. Brewed with Citra hops.
82.BARNSLEY BITTER – 3.8% Award winner brewed using the finest quality malt and Acorn Brewery hops. Chestnut in colour, with a well-rounded rich flavour that retains a lasting bitter finish.
83.KASHMIR – 4.8% A traditional IPA packed with British hops. Conwy Brewery
84.TOP KNOT – 3.7% A golden session bitter, crystal hops, English ale malt and
Handsome Brewery specially selected yeast mashed together to give a hint of citrus and a good hop and malt balance that gives way for a dry finish.

A dry fermented and conditioned cider brewed in freshly emptied Rum and Whisky Casks.
C2 COCKEYED MAD JACK – 5.0%
A dry clear cider with a refreshing crisp taste.
C3 CRANBOURNE CHASE VINTAGE – 6.8%
Medium dry cider, smooth yet sharp, rich. Matured in oak barrels.
C4 HALLETS BLINDFOLD – 6.0%
A medium cider with intense fruit flavour and citrus finish.
C5 HARROW WOOD FARM CIDER – 6.5%
A medium sparkling cider created from a carefully crafted blend of apples. Whilst still being medium, Harrow Wood leans slightly on the drier side and will appeal to those preferring a farmhouse style cider.
C6 DICKIES DRIBBLE – 6.5%
An artisan cider made in the New Forest. Medium sparkling golden straw colour made using Kingston Black cider apples.

A medium easy to drink cider with fruity aromas.

Medium natural pear cider.

A medium sweet proper cider made by hand using eating and crab apples from West Berkshire.

Sweet, keeved dark, crystal clear, Normandy style cider.
