Who are we ?

Welcome to the Bransgore Rotary
Homepage.
President for 2010-
George Bayliss
Bransgore and District Rotary Club currently has 29 members and continues to grow.
We meet each Monday evening, usually at the Carpenter’s Arms in Burley Road where we plan our fundraising activities or enjoy a speaker from the community. Most importantly, we enjoy the company of our Rotarian friends and from time to time, that of their partners.
We meet for Boules and Skittles matches, or we may go on a theatre trip or continue our round the world voyage by meeting at a restaurant representing a different country. Each year we also fit in a long weekend in Spain and this year in November was no exception, with superb weather a great location and excellent dining by the sea and all that during the winter! However, there is a serious side to Rotary. Our main aim is to support the community by giving practical help or by raising money for charitable or community projects whilst having fun doing it. For example our annual golf day has raised £20000+ over the years and our annual boxing night (this year benefitting Julia’s House and the Community First Responders), is quickly catching up. To date this year, we have raised in excess of £5000 and we still have a number of events to run, from a Burn’s Night in January to the village Fun Day in May.
From our fundraising so far we have for example been able to donate:
£2,500 to the
Honey Pot charity
£1370 to the Bransgore Community First Responders
£250 to the
Home Start Charity.
£400 to the Bransgore Scouts
